TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CONSULTING SERVICES

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in a foreign national's passport to show that they have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident.

VISITOR VISA

A visitor visa (temporary resident visa) allows you to visit Canada for a vacation, family visit, or short business trip. Visitors are limited in their length of stay and must adhere to various conditions. You must demonstrate to the officer that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations and that your stay in Canada will be temporary.

According to a July 2018 article in The Globe and Mail, the refusal rate for temporary resident visa applications increased from 18% in 2012 to 26% in 2017. In 2017 alone, Canada refused entry to nearly 600,000 people. During the first three months of 2018, the refusal rate rose to 30%.

Some of these applications were denied due to applicant mistakes, making it crucial to submit an accurate application.

STUDY PERMIT

This document allows foreign nationals to study at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada if they meet the following criteria:

  • They are enrolled at a DLI.

  • They can show proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living expenses for themselves and any accompanying family members, and return transportation costs.

  • They obey the law, have no criminal record, and are not a security risk to Canada, potentially requiring a police certificate.

  • They are in good health, possibly needing to complete a medical exam.

  • They convince an immigration officer that they will leave Canada at the end of their studies.

Work Permit

A Canadian Work Permit is a unique document issued to certain non-Canadian individuals, enabling them to work in Canada until the specified expiration date.

The Canadian government provides various types of work permits to temporary immigrants with valid employment offers. These permits can be either employer-specific or open.

Employer-specific permits tie the job to a particular employer and position, while open work permits allow individuals to work for any employer in Canada.

Super Visa

The Canada Parent and Grandparent Super Visa is a multiple-entry visa designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, allowing them to stay in Canada for up to five years per visit. Compared to the standard visitor’s visa, which typically permits stays of only six months, the Super Visa offers extended durations. To qualify, applicants must be over 18 years old and have children or grandchildren who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. However, individuals who have resided in Canada for more than five years in the last ten years are generally ineligible unless specific criteria are met.
